A Mournful Cry

The world is collapsing. Civilization and the environment are being slowly destroyed. A paradise into hell - completely avoidable save for greed, ignorance, and fear. Billions will die but only after suffering unimaginable pain. And to think it is all self inflicted.

There are those, whose numbers are growing daily, that have lost all hope and who now say to hell with it. To hell with it all.

I get the sentiment. The undoing of civilization and the destruction of our environment is inevitable so fuck it - humankind did this to itself and it can’t be stopped so I will not change or even grieve at its collapse.

Of course that is the coward’s way out. Understandable but nevertheless…

The amount of human suffering we are talking about that is about to be inflicted on billions, whose only crime was to struggle each day to provide a better life for their children, is beyond comprehension.

We have no choice but to fight - it is the responsibility we owe to all of life as sentient beings aware of the fact that we live on one very small planet and that life, all of life, is too precious to destroy.

Whether you respect that or not matters little. It is the truth.

Still, most of you can’t possibly be as sociopathic as you pretend to be since deep in your hearts there appears to still be a capacity for empathy, bordering on grief, for the well being of all of life everywhere.

And so, there is still hope.
